While the African continent lies on a reservoir of ground water, there are issues to lack of access to clean water. This article is a Q&A with Tamiru Abiye, who has conducted research on groundwater for 27 years, and found that while more than 80% of Africans depend on groundwater for daily activities, it uses only about 15% of that available. Obstacles facing the resource being used more include lack of knowledge and lack of financing.
