OneWorld's Mobile4Good programme director Uju Ofomata has been asked to present the Learning about Living projects at the Audacia Global Forum for Girls' Education in New York in September.

The Forum "will showcase and garner resources for programs and practices that hold the most promise for eradicating the barriers – poverty, violence and prejudice – that prevent tens of millions of girls from receiving a quality education or any education at all." The Learning about Living project -- which OneWorld co-founded with Butterfly Works in 2006, piloted in Nigeria since 2007, and expanded to Senegal in 2010 and Morocco in 2011 -- does exactly that by providing girls the opportunity to learn about vital sexual health issues discreetly, capitalizing on the privacy offered by computers and mobile phones. It also teaches young boys to interact with girls in a spirit of equal dignity.

The Forum is being billed as "a multi-sector meeting in which leaders from all segments of society come together to learn, share ideas and commit to collaborations that get results." We're looking forward to it!
